How your content appears on newzealand.com

Learn how to create and manage content in the Tourism Business Database, and how eligible Product Listings can appear on  newzealand.com  and other selected tourism channels.
Your content follows this pathway:
All content must be submitted to Tourism New Zealand for moderation before publication. This ensures we display accurate, relevant products that meet our  Terms & Conditions.

Approved Product Listings can then be published on  newzealand.com  and made available through selected tourism channels.

The difference between Business Profiles and Product Listings

A Business Profile does not appear to visitors by itself. To show a product, service or experience to visitors, you also need at least one published Product Listing.

Tourism New Zealand moderator review

Tourism New Zealand reviews submitted content before it is published. This helps make sure content is accurate, eligible, useful for visitors and aligned with the Tourism Business Database  terms and conditions
If changes are needed, open the content, review the feedback, make the required updates and resubmit it for review.

Where approved content may appear

Approved Product Listings can appear on  newzealand.com . Approval means your Product Listing is eligible to be published. It does not guarantee that it will appear on every  newzealand.com  page or partner website. Where it appears may depend on its listing type, location, categories and tags.
Some content may also be available through the Tourism Business Database API for selected partners to use, such as Regional Tourism Organisations. Partner websites choose which available content they display and when they update it.

Why your Product Listing may not appear

It is still in draft or waiting for review
Check its current status in the Tourism Business Database. Content cannot appear publicly until it has been submitted and approved.
Changes are required
Open the Product Listing, review the moderator feedback, make the requested changes and submit it again.
Its location, category or tags do not match
Check that you have selected the most accurate location, Product Listing type, categories and tags.
A partner is not displaying it
Partners choose which available content they use and when they update it. An approved Product Listing may not appear on every partner website.

Help visitors find and understand your listing

You can improve the quality and discoverability of your Product Listing by:
  • Keeping information accurate and current
  • Choosing accurate categories, tags and locations
  • Adding strong, current images
  • Using direct website and booking links
  • Keeping key business information consistent across your online channels
